Our studio remains open at normal scheduled hours, with the following adjustments as we continue to follow COVID-19 developments:
Alameda County Public Health Department guidelines state that gatherings for people at high risk of complications from COVID-19 should be limited to a maximum of 10 people. Although we rarely have more than eight people in our studio at once, if you are a member of a high-risk group*, we encourage you to contact us prior to coming, to verify that there will not be more than 10 people present while you are here. Additionally, geriatricians have indicated that if groups you're a member of are still meeting and none of the other members are sick, it should be OK to go.
If you are a regular student (i.e., you normally enroll in our ongoing weekly local class) and need to miss a session because of COVID-19 concerns, you are welcome to make up the missed session at a later date. Make-up sessions must be taken during the same time period as a weekly six-class series for which you have paid.
Seating arrangements and occupancy in the studio typically allow students to sit at least six feet apart. Additionally, to reduce crowding, we have two large tables available on the patio and an outdoor electric socket.
We now clean all tables with disinfectant solution before each session. Additionally, soap and warm water are available before, during, and after all sessions.
*High-risk persons include those over age 60, and those with underlying health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, chronic lung diseases, or severely weakened immune systems.
