What better way to get accustomed to a new medium! When students first come to me to learn how to use bronze and copper clay, I tell them to make what they are most familiar with so they don\u2019t have to deal with more than one challenge at a time. Follow exactly the same steps as in the book. <\/p>\n<p>2. For the back layer, use copper clay. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"frame-outer  small aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-883\"><span><span><span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/artinsilver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/t-copper-back.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/artinsilver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/t-copper-back.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" width=\"128\" height=\"86\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-883\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>3. For variety, cut the washers off center. As you can see, I also didn&#8217;t try to maintain a perfect circle.<\/p>\n<p>4. For the inner circle, roll a layer of bronze clay and lay 2 \u201csnakes\u201d on it in the shape of an X.<\/p>\n<p>5.
